The Chillicothe Schools completed their first semester of the 2014-2015 school year. Superintendent Roger Barnes says it went well. “Everything’s gone very well. It seems to have traveled very, very fast and I think that’s a sign of things going well,” Barnes said.
Barnes said their girls basketball team was undefeated and the boys team only lost one game, so there is a lot energy and excitement around the school from the students and staff. With all of the extra-curricular activities for students to be involved with, that helps the students and faculty make the semester go by and exude pride in the schools.
“Financially we’re in very good shape,” Barnes says. “And we are actually looking at a potential bond issue for the spring of 2016. We do not, at this point, know what building or buildings we will address. We are looking to gather input from our community, and having some community forums in that regard.”
Barnes thanks the community, parents and everyone for their continued support for the Chillicothe R-2 School District.
