A no-bond warrant has been issued against a Chillicothe man for causing the death of Benjamin Reed, 44, of Kansas City, on Monday. John Forrest Pollock, 43, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and first-degree vehicle theft by the Clinton County Prosecutor’s office.
4:28 a.m. Nov. 24, 2020: CLINTON COUNTY, Mo. — A driver is facing charges in a fatal collision between two trucks in Clinton County early Monday, Nov. 23.
The Missouri Highway Patrol is accusing John F. Pollock, 43, of Chillicothe, of felony leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and second degree manslaughter in the death of Benjamin G. Reed, 44, of Kansas City, Mo.
The highway patrol report says Pollock turned into the side of Reed’s semi cab at an intersection of 116 Highway, four miles east of Lathrop. Reed then lost control of his rig, where it rolled several times and ejected him. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 6:30 a.m. by the Clinton County Coroner Lee Hanks.
