CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — The Chillicothe Police Department confirmed in a press release Monday that the incident at McDonald’s between an employee and a manager happened Sunday at about 12:07 p.m., as first reported Sunday by KMZU News.
The release says the manager suffered multiple stab wounds and the suspect fled the scene on foot. A short time later, officers arrested the suspect, whose name is not being released at this time, after a brief search. The assailant was allegedly found near the restaurant attempting to take cover among some weeds near 36 Highway.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail awaiting the filing of formal charges. One count each of first degree assault and armed criminal action will be sent to the Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney for further consideration.
The manager of the restaurant, whose identity is not being released, was treated at Hedrick Medical Center for wounds sustained in the assault and was later released. The McDonald’s restaurant was closed Sunday as law enforcement carried out an inquiry, however the fast food staple has since reopened for business.
