Chillicothe Police Officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of North Washington Street in reference to a theft. Officers located Amber Walton later and she was arrested on a theft allegation. Walton was processed and transported to the Livingston County Jail pending the filing of formal charges. Separately, officers received a report of identity theft from the 1500 block of Maple Street. The victim reported someone opened a checking account in her name over the internet. The source of the identity theft was traced to China. The incident was caught by the victim’s mortgage company before there was any monetary loss.
