Press Release from Chillicothe Police Department

The Chillicothe Police Department has received funds through the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant for the purchase of 5 new light bars for the patrol vehicles.

Funding for the project was made available by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant which is administered by the U.S. Department of Justice , Bureau of Justice Assistance and the State of Missouri Department of Public Safety.

The new light bars were needed to increase officer safety and public awareness in emergency situations. The New light bars use advanced dual reflector technology along with LED lighting to greatly increase visibility of the patrol cars. The older light bars used strobe lighting which is greatly outdated and the bars are not very visible.

The Police Department received $6727.50 in grant funding and the City of Chillicothe will pay the remaining 10% of the project.
