The Chillicothe R-II School District had some help getting ready for the upcoming school year. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with new Superintendent Roger Barnes:

Roger Barnes

Barnes would like to thank members of the Chillicothe Ministerial Alliance that pitched in around the district, completing some beatification projects. Other summer maintenance included some much needed overhauling of electrical work. The electrical work took place at Dewey Elementary School and a new roof was put on Central Elementary School.

According to Barnes, the staff cuts made after last year will increase class sizes a bit, but instructional goals remain the same as the schools continues its progress as a Professional Learning Community. Barnes hopes to foster communication between faculty and administration through the professional development process.

Parents should take note that high school registration takes place August 9th and 10th and a Sixth Grade orientation event is scheduled for August 18th. The first day of school is August 17th.
