The Chillicothe City Council tabled discussion Monday night on an ordinance regarding signage on Hornet Drive after members from the school district did not show up for the meeting. According to Holland, they have many options to consider. He said long-term plans would involve some construction.
The ordinance is slated to be discussed in an upcoming meeting. Council also debated installing a gates at the intersection of Hornet Drive and 190 Monday night. They voted, although not unanimously, to put the barrier up for a 90 day trial period. Council members Tom Douglas and Wayne Cunningham were opposed to the idea.
In addition, council approved a supplemental agreement related to land purchases for the airport runway project. Council woman Pam Jarding was the lone vote against the proposal. The discussion on fees for building permits was also tabled after members requested a more detailed review of payment options. They plan to hold a special workshop session on Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
