JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Lifeguards and three citizens saved an unresponsive swimmer at a pool in Jefferson City Thursday afternoon.

The Parks Department said in a statement that the incident occurred at Memorial Park Family Aquatic Center around 2:50 p.m., yesterday afternoon. Once the victim was out of the water, resuscitation was successful and the swimmer refused further treatment from emergency responders.

Park Director, Todd Spalding said: “training and quick action saved a life today.”
