Former Chillicothe City Administrator Dean Brookshier has accepted the position as Clay County Administrator and Chief Budget Officer. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade talk with Brookshier:
“It seemed like a good fit and I’m looking forward to the future,” Brookshier said. “I’m certainly very appreciative of the City of Chilliicothe and the citizens for their great support over the years. That has been my home. My roots are very deep there. I’m also very appreciative of the trust that the Clay County Commission has placed in me. It is very humbling and an honor. It’s quite a promotion.”
Brookshier began work on Dec. 29. He said he’s trying to get his grounding. “The department heads, the employees, and the elected officials have been very gracious in welcoming me. I have become acclimated with the budget process. I’m very fortunate the interim County Administrator and the County Commission have approved the budget for the fiscal year. Everything seems to be well organized and I hope I can contribute to the great organization of the county.”
Brookshier served as Chillicothe’s City Administrator from 2007 until he resigned in April 2011.
