CLINTON COUNTY, MO — The arrest of a murder suspect Saturday followed a high speed chase through Clinton County, according to the county Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies deployed spike strips along Interstate 35 Saturday evening disabling a vehicle driven by Abdon Ochoa-Villaneda, who is wanted on charges of first degree murder and attempted murder out of Illinois.

The pursuit in Clinton County reached speeds up to 125 mph. After a wreck involving the suspect vehicle, Ochoa-Villaneda fled on foot, but was arrested after a short standoff before 6 p.m. Sunday.

Bond is set at $5 million, cash only. He remains behind bars, awaiting extradition to Illinois to face the murder charge.
