CLINTON, MO – A preliminary hearing is scheduled for a Clinton resident charged with murder in the death of a police officer.
The hearing Friday regards the case against Tammy Widger, 37, who answered the door at a Clinton residence when officers responded to what they believed was a domestic dispute. Officer, Christopher Ryan Morton, was killed when a second occupant in the residence, James Waters, opened fire. Widger was charged with possession of methamphetamine. Prosecutors then added 1st degree murder and assault charges to Widger’s case.
The hearing Friday is at 1:30 p.m.
