Closing arguments are scheduled Monday in the trial of two northwest Missouri women. Elain Kay Young, 57, was indicted in October 2009 for conspiracy to commit murder and one count of murder for hire.
The federal indictment alleges Young and her friend, Katherine Mock, 57, of Cassville, caused the death of Melvin Griesbauer so Young could collect on his insurance policies. Griesbauer was found shot to death near a barn at his Novinger home in March 2006. If convicted, both Young and Mock could face life in prison.
