DAVIESS COUNTY, Mo. — A crash in Daviess County injured two people, leaving one critically hurt early Monday morning.

The Highway Patrol responded to State Highway 13, five miles south of Gallatin around 5:10 a.m. Monday to reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

A northbound pick-up truck driven by Steven K. Siegel, 51, of Gallatin, crossed the center line of the roadway when Siegel reportedly fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle.

Siegel collided head-on with a car driven by Brandon L. Bush, 35, of Coffey.

Bush suffered serious injuries in the crash, despite wearing a seat belt. A passenger in his car, Jason J. Thomson, 41, of Hamilton reported minor injuries, for which he was treated at the scene.

Bush was flown by air ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City to receive care.
