Detainees at the Livingston County jail will have to face cold showers for a few days. Click to hear KMZU’ s Sarah Scott talk to Sheriff Steve Cox:
“Basically, the water heater is worn out,”said Cox,”We realized there was a problem, so we shut it off and had it inspected. We have plumbers and other workers here and we are trying to get some estimates on cost of replacement. We need something that is cost effective and saves on utility expenses in the long run for county taxpayers.”
Preliminary estimates for replacement near $12,000. Cox said that he expects it to be at least mid-week before a new unit can be installed and operational at the facility.
