COLE COUNTY, Mo. – A bomb threat caused the evacuation of the Cole County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff John Wheeler said in a tweet that someone called on a cellphone around 1:00 p.m. to say there was a bomb in the courthouse. The building was evacuated by court bailiffs and searched with the assistance of Cole County deputies, Jefferson City officers and a Capitol Police bomb sniffing K-9.
Everyone was back inside by 2:00 p.m.
