MARSHALL, Mo. — Action continued for the Missouri Valley Vikings rodeo teams in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo yesterday in the third go round.

In men’s results from yesterday, Senior Fenton Nelsen (Iowa City, Iowa) competed in steer wrestling and finished with a time of 6.1 seconds. Nelsen moved to second in the event standings, with an average of 16.1. Junior Briar Dittmer (Monroe, Iowa) competed in bull riding, but did not score.

On the women’s side, Junior Breanna Ellis (Clarion, Iowa) took part in the goat tying competition and finished with a time of 6.4. Ellis is No. 21 overall in the event with an average of 30.3

The men’s team is No. 13 in the standings with 170 points and the women’s team is No. 9 with 145 points.

The competition at the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo will continue today with additional third go round competition at 8 p.m., CST, at the Casper Events Center in Cheyenne.
