JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A woman was flown to Columbia after the car she was riding in struck a deer in Jefferson City Tuesday afternoon.

Jefferson City Police responded to the collision in the 2300 block of 50 Highway West around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Alyssa Hency received serious injuries when Anthony Knight hit a deer that entered the roadway, according to authorities.

Knight suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.

Hency was flown by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia to receive care.
