COLUMBIA, Mo. — Columbia Police Detectives in the Vice Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit arrested Aaron George, 24, Katrina Gatewood, 30, Jake Lee, 24, and Alexander Melise, 45, last night after service of a search warrant at an apartment on Aspen Heights Parkway.
Aspen Heights management was aware of the investigation and provided continuing support and cooperation with the VNOC Unit.
Gatewood, Melise, and George were leaving the residence in a vehicle when they were stopped and searched by officers, who found a syringe in Melise’s pocket, a baggie of heroin, 21 Clonazepam pills and two syringes in Gatewood’s purse, and three baggies of brown powder on George’s person. Inside the apartment, police discovered six grams of heroin, one baggie of methamphetamine, numerous baggies and syringes, as well as an electronic scale. The total amount of heroin recovered is equal to roughly 80 doses of the drug.
While detectives were searching the residence, Lee arrived and was found in possession of one baggie of heroin and a syringe. Lee was arrested for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with a bond of $4,500.00 and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a bond of $500.00. George and Gatewood were both arrested for Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture/Produce of a Controlled Substance with a bond to be set by the Court, and Melise was arrested for Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a bond of $500.00.
