The 20th Annual New Years Eve bash in Columbia is back to ring in the 2015 year. “We’re bringing in Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers, a great swing band,” said Accurso, “We also have Keith Jozsef who is a magician and illusionist as well as Babaloo, who is a great children’s entertainer. Sutu Forte and Tom Andes will be performing a piano duo and the children’s dance party will also return.”
There are many events planned for all through out the afternoon. “We’ve got a 5k that starts at 4p.m.,” Accurso gave a few more details for the day, “We’ll have jam session that evening. We also have New Years Day workshops that are just great for your new music goals for 2015. Also the City Department has partnered with Como Energy Challenge, so it’s going to be a great green block venue.”
The highlight of the night will be a beautiful sight for . “You will have a grand finally and a count down at midnight with fireworks,” said Accurso, “Also there will be a children’s procession at 7:45.”
Admission for the Columbia Eve Fest is only $6 in advance or $8 at the door, kids 6 and under get in free. For advance purchase of your admission button, visit the downtown Parks and Recreation building, all Gerbes Grocery stores, as well as the Activity and Recreation Center.
