COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Columbia Police Department has made an arrest following a home invasion this morning.
According to a news release, officers responded to the 200 block of Apple Tree Court at 12:38 a.m. regarding a door being kicked in at a home. Investigators found that three people were inside of the home when Aidan Dennis Murphy, 21, of Columbia and another unidentified suspect forced entry.
A female occupant reported minor injuries after Murphy struck her. Murphy fled from the scene and returned at approximately 4:00 a.m.. Officers found Murphy in the hallway of the apartment building with brass knuckles and approximately three grams of methamphetamine.
Murphy has been taken into custody for Felony Armed Criminal Action, Felony Robbery in the First Degree, Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Later, Murphy was connected to another investigation for another disturbance on November 18. For this, he was additionally charged with Felony Burglary in the First Degree, Felony Property Damage in the First Degree, and Misdemeanor Domestic Assault in the Fourth Degree.
Bonds have not yet been set. The second suspect has not been arrested.
