BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – Charges have been filed against a Columbia man for tampering with evidence in a homicide.

Investigators arrested Jamale Ewayne Marteen, 34, Monday morning, after receiving information that Marteen deleted cellphone text messages between himself and a victim to arrange a drug deal.

Nathan Earl Taylor, 31, of Kansas City, was shot in the 1800 block of McKee Street and later died of his wounds.

Marteen is being held at the Boone County Jail with a $100,000 cash only bond.
