Sedalia resident, Sorita Walter, was recently presented with a Life Saving Award by officials in Pettis County. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk with Presiding Commissioner John Meehan:

“It was lunchtime and this cashier noticed that a student was choking; in essence, the child just couldn’t breathe,”said Meehan,”She quickly rushed to the aid of the student, performed the Heimlich maneuver and saved the child’s life.”  Meehan added that Walter was humble, but very deserving of this recognition.

Walter’s name will be added to the Life Saving Award Plaque that is housed in commission chambers.
