NODAWAY COUNTY, Mo. — A crash near Ravenwood sent a driver from Conception Junction to an area hospital early Tuesday morning.

The Highway Patrol responded to U.S. 136 Highway, two miles south of Ravenwood around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a crash involving a single vehicle.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the driver, 24-year-old Jacob I. Young, was eastbound on 136 when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road.

The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and came to rest facing west.

Young reported moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Mosaic Healthcare in Maryville to be treated.
