The Concordia Board of Aldermen is scheduled to meet this evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with City Administrator Dale Klussman:
Lighting efficiencies at city hall and the community center will be a main topic of discussion. Klussman said they will propose a project by Brightergy that has the potential to save the city money down the road. “They are able to do a quick connect retrofit of a LCD light,” said Klussman, “It is a tube and it just plugs right into ballast. When those ballast go out instead of having to buy a new one, we can do a direct wire of these LCD lights so, as they go out, we can rid ourselves of the $14-$20 replacement cost.”
Also on the agenda is a public hearing to review the audit findings for fiscal year ending March 31, 2014. “Last year, we went into an agreement with Randall Fiene, a CPA here in Concordia, to do the audit,” said Klussman, “He came in in early July to do that. He has no findings on it and that’s always good news. It’s a little difference format this year, but everything looks very good.”
The regular session meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Concordia Community Building. The board will suspend the regular meeting at 7:30 for the public hearing.
