Area servicemen and women are invited to attend a veterans program in Concordia Sunday afternoon. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott talk to member of the Main Street Board of Directors Nathan St. Clair:
St. Clair says organizers have planned a full day of activities. “We will have some presentations mixed into the concert itself,” said St. Clair,”There will be a special guest speaker, Major Tim Sutton, from Whiteman Air Force Base who is a B-2 pilot. In addition, there will be two short presentations form members of the Concordia VFW Post 5649.”
According to organizers, the music will be a highlight of the program. “The Memories Orchestra is actually volunteering their time and services to do this concert as a benefit to the community,” said St. Clair,” The band does Honor Flight Balls which raise money for different flights of that program. So, a lot of this concert will be comprised of pieces they take from one of those events and do a special theme towards veterans.”
The day will begin with a chili and soup free-will lunch at 12:30 at the Concordia Community Center. The program itself is scheduled to begin at 1:30. Everyone is invited to attend.
