BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – The attorney for a Columbia murder suspect is asking the court to delay his pre-trial conference and possibly the trial date.
A motion was filed Tuesday in Boone County to reset the court date for Devontre D. Kennedy, 24. Kennedy and Darold Pruitt, 46, of Columbia were each charged with murder in the second degree, discharging a firearm into a habitable structure and assault in the second degree in 2017. Both are accused in the shooting death of Shamya Brimmage and injury of another woman at a residence on Madison Street.
The pre-trial conference is June 10th and trial is scheduled to begin on June 18th.
