Almost a year after communities along the Missouri River experienced record flooding, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced during a conference call on Friday its predictions for the summer of 2012. Although Farhat cautioned that periodic floods caused by seasonal summer rainfall could not be ruled out, she said the region is not likely to experience the snowpack-driven flooding of a year ago. Click to hear Farhat:
The corps is expected to check water flows again on July 1.
