The approved wage increase was 50-cents per hour for full-time city employees. Council members also discussed a small tax increase that will be placed on the April ballot. Bell says the proposal is a transportation tax that comes due later this year.
In other business the community will rent out property that has required upkeep over the years. A request for bid was recently issued but only one proposal was submitted. Bell says the property is located on the south side of town

According to Bell the one-year agreement will save the community money by not having to maintain the ground.
Council members also approved a schedule change to the community’s annual Relay for Life. The event will be held on May 5th from noon until midnight on the city square.
