The Carrollton City Council gave final approval to the city budget Tuesday evening.  Administrative Assistant Terry Bell says tackling the annual project requires a variety of information from several aspects of city government…
The approved wage increase was 50-cents per hour for full-time city employees. Council members also discussed a small tax increase that will be placed on the April ballot.  Bell says the proposal is a transportation tax that comes due later this year.

In other business the community will rent out property that has required upkeep over the years.  A request for bid was recently issued but only one proposal was submitted. Bell says the property is located on the south side of town

Area residents have seen the land house to a variety of things…
According to Bell the one-year agreement will save the community money by not having to maintain the ground.
Council members also approved a schedule change to the community’s annual Relay for Life.  The event will be held on May 5th from noon until midnight on the city square.
