An ordinance to apply for a tourism grant was approved at the Marshall City Council meeting Monday night. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Connie Latimer:
Funds will be used to support Civil War Sesquicentennial activities in Marshall. No funds would come from the city. “The original funds would come from the tourism here, and then the matching funds would from the state tourism,” said Latimer.
Council also passed an ordinance entering into an agreement with Windjammer Communications regarding utility poles, allowing them to attach cable tv to the city’s utility poles. Latimer said this was done in response to rumors that Windjammer has been sold to a new company.
