The Marshall City Council approved a bid at Monday night’s meeting. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Connie Latimer:
The accepted bid was for work to the water treatment plant and water tower. “Even though Utilities is their own entity, they still, any contracts that they have have to go through the approval of the City Council,” said Latimer.
The funds will not come from the City budget, but from the Utilities budget. “Everything comes, the decision to do it and the decision to take the bid, it gets made at the Utility Board meeting. They make that decision, and then they send it on to the Council for their final approval,” said Latimer.
Council accepted the bid for $650,000.
