A report by Chillicothe Mayor Chuck Haney at a council meeting on Monday prompted a discussion on safety concerns at Highway 36 and Mitchell Road. Haney told council members that he met with Missouri Department of Transportation officials about options in the area. City Administrator Ike Holland said council has been considering a number of solutions including a speed limit reduction, flashing lights, and replacing the concrete barriers with cables.
