Council members met for a tour of Hedrick’s new site before their regular session on Monday. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Ike Holland:
Construction has been delayed by about a week because of rain, but Holland said he is confident the contractor will be able to make it up by the fall. The City plans to have the hospital open in February of next year. The total budgeted cost of the project is $41 million.
During the regular session Council tabled an authorization request for a metal storage shed. The City Attorney will look into whether prevailing wage must be paid because the building will eventually revert to City ownership. Council hopes to make a decision at Wednesday’s noon meeting.
They will also swear in the new Council at the noon meeting. Council member Pam Jarding decided not to run this year, and her seat will be filled by Paul Howard.
