Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders is literally giving back to the county. Sanders’ salary increased from 108-thousand dollars to about 120-thousand dollars at the beginning of the year. He announced yesterday he is giving his raise back to the county. Sanders said during his re-election campaign last year he would not take a raise for the next four years. However, the county counselor told him last month the county charter requires him to take a raise. County legislators also received a raise this year. An ordinance passed in 2004 requires county leaders to receive a raise whenever judges get a pay increase.
