HENRY COUNTY, Mo.- A Henry County man accused in the shooting death of a Clinton, Mo., police officer, is moving forward with initial court proceedings following a not-guilty plea in August.
Ian McCarthy, 39, was arrested after a two-day manhunt on August 8, 2017, that included city, county, and state law enforcement. He is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Four people including William Noble, Brandie Noble, and Jacob Johnson, have all been charged in connection with the death of Officer Gary Michael.
On October 20, 2017, McCarthy appeared by attorney for a criminal setting in which the State requested case to be set for preliminary hearing. The judge scheduled a second criminal setting that will take place tomorrow, November 17, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., in Henry County Circuit Court.
