Missouri — The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said Missouri has 9,666 cases of covid-19 with 472 deaths.

Saline County in the KMZU listening area has been hit the hardest with 215 positive cases and luckily no deaths. Jackson County reports 390 positive cases with 14 deaths.

The numbers are not really fluctuating all that much because as people are getting over covid-19 other’s are still getting infected.

Kansas University Professor Anthony Fehr works with coronaviruses in the KU Department of Molecular Biosciences. Fehr said even though there are a couple of vaccines that are making news, they wouldn’t be available until 2021 because of clinical trials and production.

Pfizer in St. Louis appears to be on the forefront with vaccine research.
