COLUMBIA, Mo. (Press Release)- Around 12:30 a.m. this morning, Columbia Police officers responded to the 3700 block of Hermitage Road.

When arrived, officers located multiple shell casings in two seperate areas. A residence on Mirtle Grove Court was also struck by gunfire. While canvassing the area, officers located a vehicle at the entrance of Rock Quarry Park on Grindstone Parkway. The vehicle’s windows were shot out, had a flat tire, and blood inside the vehicle.

One female subject was located with the vehicle. Officers detained the subject pending investigation and the vehicle was towed as evidence.

At approximately 2:10 a.m., officers were notified by a local hospital that a gunshot wound victim had arrived at the emergency room. Officers responded to the hospital to question the subject. It is unclear at this time if the shots fired on Hermitage and the gunshot wound victim are related.
