UPDATE: 5 p.m. – A crash reported earlier this morning involved a semi-tractor trailer that jackknifed across at least one lane of traffic on I-70. According to a report submitted by Highway Patrol, the driver of the truck, Mustafea Zaidi, 62, of Elk River Minnesota, lost control of the vehicle as it overturned off the westbound lanes near the 32-mile-marker.

A passenger, Kevin Johnson, 45, of Tallahassee was taken to Centerpoint Hospital with minor injuries.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — KMZU News has confirmed a crash on Interstate 70 that happened at about 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.

According to reports, Sni-Valley Fire was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in Interstate 70 with injuries.

The incident was reported on westbound Interstate 70, just East of the Bates City exit at mile marker 38.

Reports indicate an eighteen wheeler was jackknifed across at least one lane of traffic, and Odessa fire had been been requested for mutual aid.

The scene has now been cleared and traffic was flowing normally as of 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. The extent of injuries was not immediately clear.
