MACON COUNTY, Mo. — A two-vehicle crash in Macon County sent two people to area hospitals, one in critical condition, Tuesday.

According to the Highway Patrol, troopers were called to U.S. 36 Highway, just west of Rotue V at Anabel around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

A vehicle driven by 70-year-old Sharon Farris was stopped in traffic when a westbound vehicle, operated by 31-year-opld Kristine D. Kinzle, of Shelbina, did not yield and struck Farris’ vehicle in its rear.

Farris received minor injuries and was taken to Samaritan Hospital for treatment, while Kinzle suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to University Hospital in Columbia.
