A motor vehicle accident on Mo 116 approximately 9 miles west of Polo, shut down the thoroughfare for some time Tuesday afternoon, according to a KMZU listener.
The caller stated the crash happened sometime between 11 and noon. At the time of his report, (1:10 p.m.) 116 was shut down. After contacting the Missouri State Highway Patrol a few minutes later, the wreck was confirmed and the highway had been reopened to one lane. T16 was closed in both directions while a vehicle was removed from the lanes of travel.
Crews are still on scene but motorists are urged to use extreme caution as they move through the area.
There was no official word on injuries. The listener described what looked like a grain truck in a ditch near the bridge, just west of Southwest Orr Street in Rockford, Mo.
