Darcy Brent Odom, 44 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at his home in Odessa.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Hoefer Funeral Home located at 1600 Main St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037. Inurnment will follow the service with full military honors in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville. Memorial contributions may be sent to VFW Post 5675, Odessa, MO. Born Tuesday, September 17, 1974 in Lake Jackson, Texas, he was the son of David Odom and Dezina Odom (Woodard). He was the husband of Tina Odom and she survives of the home.
Darcy was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. He was stationed on McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey as a Staff Sergeant on the KC10 for over ten years. Their motto was “Can Do”. He did many special missions and traveled the world during his service. Before the service he worked for the railroad and in construction. He picked up the ability very early to tinker and fix just about anything. He worked on motorcycles and cars, restoring and loving it deeply. He was a “Jack of all trades”. In retirement Darcy was a member of the Odessa VFW Post 5675. Darcy loved his family and was a hugger; he loved giving hugs.
Surviving are his loving wife, Tina of the home; parents, David and Dezina Odom of St. Joseph, MO; two step-daughters, Heather and Casie Atkins of St. Joseph; two brothers, Devin Odom of Kansas City, MO and Derek (Heidi) Odom of St. Joseph, three sisters, Jackie (Shawn) Moser of St. Joseph, Dorinda (Todd) Teem of Lone Jack, MO and Davina (Wesley) Salmons of St. Augustine, FL; four grandchildren, Cameron, Spencer, Lylah, and Jona.
