David Lowell Scott, 90 of Concordia, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hoefer Funeral Home and online condolences may be made to the family at www.hoeferfuneralhome.com

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main St. Higginsville, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2020  at Hoefer Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to VFW National Home for Children or Lafayette County Cancer Coalition.

Born Saturday, April 13, 1929 in Laurie, Missouri, he was the son of the late Arthur Scott and the late Vival (Stevens) Scott.

David married Georgia (Smith) Scott and had two children but later divorced. He married his second wife, Reba (Rutherford) Scott and she preceded him in death on August 26, 2002.

David graduated from Higginsville High School and enlisted in the United States Army in October of 1948, earning Corporal in 1951.

David became a Machinists and a Tool Die Maker working for Bendix and Honeywell for over 50 years. He was a Union Officer for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a proud member of the Concordia VFW. David spent many wonderful days serving meals at the Senior Center.

David enjoyed bowling, fast pitch softball, bird hunting, and fishing. He danced with a group of friends weekly and had weekly card games with friends. Nothing pleased him more than spending time with his family and his grandchildren. If he considered you family, you were family; blood did not matter. He will be deeply missed by many.

Surviving are, good friend and companion, Alleen Matthews of Alma, MO; one son; Al (Linda) Scott of Higginsville, MO; one daughter, Martha (Luigi) Lombardi of Richmond, MO; one brother, Lester (Betty) Scott of Patterson, CA; one sister-in-law, Malinda Scott-Dahln of Sonoma, CA; eight grandchildren, Chad (Elsa) Dike, Brenna (Shawn) Siegel, Josh (Aubrie) Scott, Jeremiah Scott, Teresa (Tim) Holt, Bridget (Andy) England, Julie Aswald, Michael (Pat) Hennessey; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Vicki Stevens and Lela Maston; one brother, John Forrest Scott; four sisters, Ruth Skidmore, Mary Nell Rebeiro, Ester Scott, Ellsie Lee Scott; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Scott.
