COOPER COUNTY, Mo. — A De Soto man is formally charged with multiple felonies in Cooper County.

A probable cause statement suggests police observed a motorcycle traveling over the speed limit on I-70 eastbound. During a traffic stop, the driver, 56-year-old Frank R. Stogsdill attempted to flee from law enforcement after failing to turn off the vehicle. ‘

The pursuit ranged with speeds from 75-95 mph.

During a pursuit, officers allegedly notice Stogsdill throw away a handgun and a bag of methamphetamine.

Stogsdill crashed his vehicle and was flown to University Hospital for treatment.

Stogsdill is formally charged with felonies of trafficking drugs in the second degree, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest.

Bond is set at $100,000 cash or surety allowed.
