The third Youth Talent Contest in Chillicothe is coming up later this month.  Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Chillicothe area Arts Council member Julie Ashbrook:

Julie Ashbrook

Ashbrook said part of the reason they started to event is because they want to promote opportunities for young artists.  “A juried event is something that a lot of youngsters have never participated in, said Ashbrook, “Where you have professional judges and you go before them, and it isn’t just the applause in the crowd that wins it.”

The deadline to apply is Monday at midnight.
