Four people were hospitalized Saturday night, after an accident in Chariton County about 10pm. According to the Highway Patrol, Beverly Atkinson, 48, of Salisbury was Southbound on Highway 5, five miles South of Salisbury, when she struck a deer, swerved sideways and was struck on the passenger side by Northbound Wayde Duff, 66, of Keytesville. Atkinson and her husband, Steven Atkinson, 43, received serious injuries as did Duff’s wife, Wilma Duff, 66. They were all transported to University Hospital. Atkinson’s son, Garrett Allen, 14, was moderately injured and taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center.
