BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — A Thursday morning crash on 63 Highway in Boone County was caused by a deer in the roadway, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on 63 Highway northbound just south of Route H in Boone County at approximately 2:55 a.m. Thursday.

A pick-up truck operated by 51-year-old Columbia resident Robert L. Hadsell was traveling north on 63 when he reportedly struck a deer that was attempting to cross the highway.

Hadsell and a passenger in his vehicle, Tracey R. Hadsell, 49, also of Ashland, both received minor injuries in the single-vehicle crash.

They were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
