A press release from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources says the Dekalb County Public Water Supply District #1 has been awarded a grant of $407, 751 and a loan of $423,000 to replace an aging water tower, install fencing and add security lights.

The new tank will be an elevated 150,000 gallon water storage tank and is expected to be completed by June 2015. The funding will save district ratepayers approximately $203,000 in interest payments and more than $400,000 in principal.

The cost of the entire project is estimated at $830,751.
