MISSOURI — The race is on to replace Joe Don McGaugh in the Missouri House of Representatives, who now serves as associate judge for Missouri’s eighth circuit court.
The Carroll County Republican Party has nominated Carroll County Clerk Peggy McGaugh to run for the seat her son, Joe Don, has held since 2012. McGaugh has held public office for more than three decades.
Democrats have put forward a newcomer to politics as their candidate – Ethan Perkinson, a law enforcement officer serving in the Carrollton Police Department, who lives in Richmond with his wife, Amanda.
The runoff for the 39th Missouri House District seat is tentatively set for February of next year.
