A Saline County Sheriff’s Deputy avoided going to trial Wednesday by submitting a plea deal that didn’t require him to admit guilt. Bradley O’Neal, 44, entered an Alford plea to charges of third-degree domestic assault.
The plea agreement does not admit guilt and instead, recognizes that there is enough evidence in the case for a jury to reach a guilty verdict. According to reports, O’Neal allegedly hit his wife multiple times during an altercation on Sept. 18. O’Neal fled the scene before deputies arrived.
O’Neal was sentenced to one year of probation and counseling.
