A Chariton County deputy was hit by a full size truck just north of Brunswick Wednesday night at around 8 p.m. According to reports from the Highway Patrol, Officer Troy Frakes, 46, was standing on Route M attempting to stop a westbound vehicle for a criminal investigation when he was hit from behind by the eastbound Silverado driven by Clay Creech, 47, of Keytesville. Deputy Frakes was flown to University Hospital with serious injuries.


A listener has advised that just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night a Chariton County Deputy Sheriff was flown from the scene of an accident on Route M in Chariton County. According to the report, someone ran into the deputy’s parked patrol car. The Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies have responded to the scene to assist.
