RICHMOND,  Mo.- According to multiple sources the Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that took place Sunday night, October 1, 2017, in Ray County

Reports indicate the shooting took place near Highway T and 72nd Street where a Ray County deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop. When the deputy approached the vehicle the suspect was allegedly resisting and pulled the deputy back into the vehicle. The deputy was able to pull his gun and shoot the suspect.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he’s being treated for non-life threatening injuries. KMZU News reached out to Troop A of the Missouri Highway Patrol for a formal statement but has not yet been received.
